Organizational Alignment

Over the last thirty years, it has been common practice for organizations to have a “Vision Statement” … posting it on the walls and/or printing wallet cards for employees to carry. Most even go so far as to add Mission Statements and Values. These have been simple but valuable tools for organizations all over the world. Unfortunately, many organizations have stopped short of actually using these tools to shape and align the culture of the organization. It is the culture of the organization, in the final analysis, which determines whether an initiative works in spite of all the problems or fails because of any of them.

Executive Consulting has well developed, and proven, processes to guide Organizational Alignment within companies, with refined and highly specific experiences:

Consolidation

Finding ways to make the most of your organizational resources, which includes the elimination of wasteful, non productive resources of any kind. Consolidation does not always mean layoffs or downsizing. Consolidation often relates to budgeting more effectively, eliminating wasteful practices, or simply eliminating meaningless, less productive (or counter-productive) functions.

Alignment

For an organization to come together and move forward, all the people involved need to have a common understanding of the mission, and practical understanding of the consequences of failure and the benefits of success. If the culture of an organization is aligned, it reflects the vision, mission, and values in everyday life throughout the organization. In fact, organizational cultures vary in both intensity (strength, consistency, and pervasiveness) and content (values and behaviors). The many observable signs of culture, like symbols, myths and legends, the physical plants, the language of the organization, and the leadership style, are far more telling of the organizational culture than the Vision Statements on the walls. Successful organizations determine where they want to be, and then take the necessary steps – addressing all of the factors of culture -- to get there.

Performance Optimization

Performance goals should always be considered, planned and measured. To optimize an organizations performance, a company should first establish the performance criteria, create a sound plan, and execute against measureable performance results… only then can performance be optimized. . An organization which emphasizes teamwork but uses reward/punitive practices that undermine teamwork will not be successful. An organization aspiring to be the “employer of choice” but tolerates aggressive/abusive behavior will not be successful. To optimize performance it is critical to optimize organizational systems. Executive Consulting's tried and true methodologies, assessments and recovery tools can provide the clear path forward for you and your organization.

Reorganization / Restructuring / Restaffing

Not always pleasant or welcome terms within an organization, these "re-words" often translate to uncomfortable situations, employee unrest or dissatisfaction and fear of the unknown. Executive Consulting helps to reduce organizational strain surrounding the “re-words" through well organized planning, great communication at all levels appropriate within the organization, and proper deployment/alignment of personnel systems and business processes.

Strategy Development

Executive Consulting not only collaboratively plans business strategies with your organization, but our team also serves to implement well designed, executable business strategies that fit your organizations business criteria.

Corporate Restructuring

Turning a company or organization around through corporate restructuring does not always have to be a radical change from the present. Executive Consulting has years of success in drawing upon all facets of an organization, determining what needs to be changed or improved, keeping and building on what can remain, to reduce or even eliminate the organizational stress related to restructuring.
